Leading North American Food Producer Will Implement CDC Software’s CDC Factory Enterprise Solution
Implementation of manufacturing operations management solution at multiple plants expected to be completed within 10 months
HONG KONG, ATLANTA (December 08, 2008) –
CDC Software, a wholly-owned subsidiary of CDC Corporation (NASDAQ: CHINA) and a provider of industry-specific enterprise software applications and business services, announced today that this multi-plant, public company and food industry leader is expected to implement the CDC Factory manufacturing operations management solution at all its North American plants to improve its overall profit margins.
CDC Software completed the contract with this new customer in October 2008, and expects to implement the CDC Factory solution at the company’s first plant by April, 2009 and complete implementation at all of its North American plants by August, 2009.
During the evaluation process with the customer, CDC Software conducted a three-day Factory Performance Audit and Benchmark evaluation and identified potential annualized performance gains averaging approximately $1.0 million per plant. According to this benchmark evaluation, these performance improvements are likely to contribute directly to the company’s profitability.
“We are delighted to add this leading food producer to our growing list of multi-plant customers,” said Mark Sutcliffe, president of the CDC Factory product line of CDC Software. “With the recessionary climate driving increased demand for economical food-at-home products, food producers are actively seeking new ways to increase capacity without large capital expenditures. CDC Factory addresses these challenges, and enables enterprises to increase cases-per-labor-hour using their existing plant and labor resources. Since CDC Factory is a pre-packaged solution for the food and beverage industry, it typically can be deployed in as little as six to eight weeks per plant. Without a costly and time-consuming software implementation process, CDC Factory helps to directly and quickly drive improvements from the workforce, so that customers can get immediate financial benefit.”
