Columbia Paint and Coatings To Implement DEACOM ERP System
WAYNE, PA (August 29, 2007) – Deacom, Inc. announces that Columbia Paint and Coatings, a manufacturer of superior quality residential, architectural, commercial and industrial paints and coatings serving the Pacific Northwest and Mountain West regions, is implementing the DEACOM Integrated Accounting and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Software System to manage formulation, inventory, purchasing, quality control and environmental reporting in its two manufacturing plants.
As the 32nd largest paint and coatings company in North America, Columbia Paint and Coatings sells its products to professional painting contractors and do-it-yourself consumers through its 41 company-operated stores and numerous authorized dealers. In order to provide its customers with the most innovative high quality products, Columbia Paint and Coatings sought a single software solution to replace its non-integrated systems.
“We are continually developing new formulations and evaluating and improving upon existing products to ensure top quality paints and coatings that withstand the extreme seasonal conditions of the Pacific Northwest and Mountain West regions,” says George Stavnes, Vice President of Research and Development and Regulatory Affairs for Columbia Paint and Coatings. “Having non-integrated systems required multiple entries of formulation changes which was cumbersome and time-consuming.”
As an integrated single software system for paint and coatings manufacturers, DEACOM will tie formulation to inventory, purchasing, quality control and environmental reporting eliminating the need for multiple entries of new or updated formulations.
“We anticipate much more efficiency in our business processes with a single, integrated system,” says Stavnes.
