Lawson Channel Partner Program Strengthens Lawson’s Middle East Presence

New contracts highlight Lawson Software’s growing Middle East presence through regional channel partnerships

ST. PAUL, Minn. (November 05, 2007) – Lawson Software (Nasdaq:LWSN) today announced that Accentia Middle East, the regional channel partner for the Lawson M3 product line in the Middle East Arab countries, secured a contract with Saudi Diesel, the largest diesel generator manufacturer in the region. This announcement follows 11 Middle East contract wins for Lawson during fiscal 2007 that came through its growing network of channel partners. The contract with Saudi Diesel was signed during Lawson’s first quarter of fiscal 2008, which ended Aug. 31, 2007.

Saudi Diesel is the latest customer in the Middle East to select Lawson to help improve business processes and provide visibility into its supply chain. Through Lawson channel partner Accentia Middle East, Saudi Diesel selected the Lawson M3 Equipment Service Management software solution, marking the first Equipment Service Management (ESM) implementation for Lawson in the region. Saudi Diesel will rely on the industry expertise of Accentia Middle East, a leading IT business management consultancy, for deployment of the Lawson solution.

Saudi Diesel, like other companies in the region, needed a solution to help streamline operations, ultimately helping it take advantage of economic growth opportunities and lower cost manufacturing options in the Middle East. “We chose the Lawson M3 solution through the skilled and experienced implementer Accentia Middle East because the software offers industry-specific functionality while Accentia offers the industry best practices and expertise we needed to help us execute on our overall business strategies faster and with greater simplicity,” said Ahmed Al Kooheji, CIO for Saudi Diesel. “We see significant opportunities for strengthening our competitiveness through working with a single, unified enterprise system.”

During Lawson’s 2007 fiscal year, the company secured other contracts through channel partners in the Middle East, with new customers in the food and beverage, fashion and distribution industries. New customers in the region include Fata farms, Haraz farms, Alrahman farms, Societe Nationale du Commerce, Textile International of Egypt and Alesayi Electronics.

“Lawson’s heritage and experience in vertical industries such as food and beverage, fashion, manufacturing, distribution, and ESM, coupled with our dedication to providing complete solutions through trusted partners enables us to be well-positioned in EMEA,” said Fady Sfeir, vice president of channels for Lawson in EMEA. “The success we’ve experienced during 2007 within the Middle East underscores Lawson’s position as a leading provider of enterprise software across the vertical industries we serve.”

“Our partnership with Lawson reflects years of experience within both the Middle East and international IT markets,” said Samir Alwani, managing director of Accentia Middle East. “It is a good fit in terms of product, experience and expertise to help our customers achieve the best business potential.”
