ATC Lasham Ltd. Signs Contract with Lawson Software
Lawson M3 7.1 Applications will help integrate organizational processes and aid business decision-making
LONDON (August 21, 2007) – Lawson Software (Nasdaq: LWSN) today announced it has secured a contract with ATC Lasham Ltd. to implement the Lawson M3 7.1 Application Suite. ATC Lasham, an aircraft maintenance organization, will run the Lawson applications on IBM System i servers. Lawson and ATC Lasham plan to complete the implementation of the enterprise software system in early 2008.
ATC Lasham is the UK’s leading independent maintenance organization serving most of the major European airlines and other low-cost, charter, freight and cargo air transportation companies. Incorporated in 1994, the company’s headquarters, based at Lasham Airfield in Hampshire, was established by DAN-AIR in 1954 and has provided heavy maintenance for Boeing aircraft for more than thirty years. In 2003, due to business expansion, the company added a second site at London Southend Airport, Southend-on-Sea, primarily for the maintenance of its European airline customers’ expanding Airbus fleets.
ATC Lasham has been running an enterprise software system that was developed in-house for one of its facilities and a 12-year-old packaged solution in the other facility, neither of which could scale to satisfy the company’s market requirements. It needed to find a solution that would enable common processes across both of its facilities, while offering a simpler path toward broader integration of business systems. The Lawson M3 solution will aid greater visibility across the entire business, better management of stock levels, and, through implementation of Lawson Business Intelligence, more powerful access to information for management reporting.
“Lawson was able to demonstrate a real understanding of our business needs and deliver a proven solution that specifically matches the stringent regulatory requirements of our industry, said Andy Finch, general manager of ATC Lasham. “The fact that the Lawson M3 solution is specifically tailored to the needs of a maintenance business and can be scaled as we grow our business means we now have a future-proof solution.
Until now, ATC Lasham had operated an Intel platform but has decided to opt for an IBM platform that will provide simpler solution that more closely matches the company’s back-up, recovery and scalability requirements.
“We were able to supply a solution that mirrored the functional fit of ATC Lasham’s maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) business, said Travis White, senior vice president strategy and planning at Lawson Software. “As well as having to meet the needs of a highly regulated industry sector, the new solutions will help facilitate management decision-making across all aspects of ATC Lasham’s maintenance operations.
To aid the implementation process, ATC Lasham will use the Lawson Learning Accelerator training tool, which is designed to enhance training and user adoption of Lawson applications. The contract with ATC Lasham was signed during Lawson’s first quarter of fiscal 2008, which ends August 31, 2007.
