Lawson to Help Carbomax Connect Its Business Processes

New Interconnected System Replaces Various Disparate Systems

STOCKHOLM, Sweden (April 03, 2007) – Lawson Software has signed a contract with Carbomax to install the Lawson M3 Enterprise Management System (previously Movex). Carbomax supplies bearings and carbon products to steel mills and foundries in the Nordic countries. The factory has an annual production of approximately 65,000 tons.

The company’s entire operation, including production, purchasing, sales, and financial management, is located in Västerås. The Lawson M3 System will integrate all of the company’s business processes in a uniform environment. Previously, the company used a number of systems for its various business functions. The new, comprehensive system is expected to provide considerably better control over all business operations and radically reduce the amount of manual work. The selection of the Lawson M3 System was preceded by a careful evaluation of other alternatives on the market, where the total cost and the flexibility of the system were important considerations.

“In a short time, our company has grown from having a turnover of [SEK] 100 million to 750 million, a fact which places great demands on our systems. Our growth must not require more human resources; our niche is high technology, not in expanding the company’s number of personnel, says Ingrid Fernström, chief accountant at Carbomax.

The new business system is installed on the IBM System i.
