CAMAC Selects Lawson M3 Suite
The Catalan construction machinery manufacturer opts for the simplicity and industry-specific functionality of the Lawson enterprise software system
MADRID (April 25, 2007) – Lawson Software (Nasdaq: LWSN), a global provider of enterprise software applications, today announced that CAMAC has signed a contract for the Lawson M3 Suite to help it optimize its business processes. CAMAC specializes in designing and manufacturing construction machinery and equipment, which it distributes to more than 40 countries around the world. Lawson was chosen in a competitive selection process, winning out against offers from companies including SAP and Navision (Microsoft). The contract was signed in Lawson’s third quarter of fiscal 2007, which ended Feb. 28, 2007.
CAMAC (Catalana de Material Auxiliar de Construcción S.A.) started out over 60 years ago as a pioneer in the development of construction equipment and machinery, creating its first cement mixer in the 1940s. It is now a national and global leader in the manufacturing and marketing of equipment and machinery for the construction sector. It produces and supplies equipment such as scaffolding, hoists, rack and pinion scaffolds, concrete mixers and elevators.
Based in Esparraguera (Barcelona), CAMAC invoices about EUR 25 million annually. It is headed by José Luís Bravo, who stated that the Lawson M3 Suite was chosen “for its simplicity, technology and good references within our sector.
The main objective of CAMAC’s adoption of the Lawson M3 Enterprise Management System is to optimize its management processes in all strategic areas. The new Lawson business modules include Finance Management, Manufacturing Operations, Supply Chain Management, Customer Sales and Service and Lawson Business Intelligence. The Lawson M3 System will initially be used by 35 employees.
