Lawson signs first German M3 7.1 customer with RIDI
Lawson Smart Client to deliver intuitive user interface
Germany, Hilden, (October 18, 2007) – Lawson Software (NASDAQ: LWSN) today announces that RIDI Leuchten GmbH, Germany has signed an agreement with Lawson for the implementation of Lawson M3 7.1 This latest release of the Lawson suite will help RIDI in the support of the company’s manufacturing and distribution process and optimization of its supply chain. The agreement was signed during Lawson’s fourth business quarter, which ends on 31 May 2007.
The manufacturer of lighting and lighting technology has been a Lawson customer since 2001 and opted for an upgrade to Lawson M3 7.1 through data migration. “RIDI is currently seeking to improve business processes and with this upgrade we can share in and benefit from the latest Lawson M3 development,” said Volkhard Loebich, IT Manager at RIDI. “A very appealing and additional decisive factor has been the new user interface, Lawson Smart Client, which will enhance our users’ experience and improve their productivity, Loebich continued.
The Smart Client is a core element of Lawson M3 7.1 applications release and is an easily deployed and managed client application that sits on a central server. It delivers an intuitive user interface that allows user-specific customization and personalization. The new user interface can incorporate features such as documents, two- and three dimensional graphics, and video.
The data migration at RIDI in Germany has been successfully completed last April. A further roll out of the implementation of Lawson M3 7.1 is also planned for RIDI’s operations in Poland, Austria, Switzerland, Italy and the UK. This means that once completed the system will be supporting 210 users.
Lawson unveiled Lawson M3 7.1 applications last March at their annual Conference and User Exchange (CUE). Lawson M3 7.1 is designed for customers in fashion, food and beverage, distribution and asset-intensive and manufacturing industries.
