Lawson Software Asia Pacific Launches M3 7.1 in Malaysia
One-year Old Lawson to Target Malaysian SMEs with Industry-Specific ERP Solutions
MALAYSIA (June 07, 2007) – Lawson Software (Nasdaq: LWSN) today announced the launch of M3 7.1 applications and technology in Malaysia. The launch marks the entry of the world’s third largest publicly-listed ERP software and applications provider into the Malaysian market since the merger of Lawson and Intentia in April 2006.
M3 7.1 applications are designed for customers in the food and beverage, fashion, distribution, asset-intensive, and manufacturing industries. The newly enhanced version of the M3 applications, previously known as Movex, included significant business process enhancements such as the Lawson Smart Client, an easy-to-deploy and intuitive Java-based user interface, which is a core element of the overall M3 7.1 applications release. With the Lawson Smart Client, Lawson is redefining how people will interact with their Lawson applications. The Supply Chain Order offers greater visibility and flexibility in the supply chain to the wide industries using M3. M3 7.1 also features enhancements to Lawson’s industry-specific functionality at a low total cost of ownership. A new system foundation helps customers to avoid disruptive upgrades by separating Lawson M3 applications from Lawson M3 technology.
“Lawson solutions address two major challenges customers face- the need for full functionality, industry-specific enterprise software solutions and the need for rapid implementation and time-to-value, said Trygve Slette, Regional General Manager for South East Asia, Lawson Software Asia Pacific. “We see a ready market for Lawson’s solutions in Malaysia. We have aggressive sales, marketing and operational plans to succeed in driving growth. With the increasing demand for our software and services we are seeing, the target is more than achievable. said Slette.
