Koramsa Signs Multi-Suite Contract with Lawson Software
Lawson QuickStep Fashion solution is a key element of Guatemala-based fashion manufacturer’s enterprise technology strategy.
ST. PAUL, Minn. (April 18, 2007) – Lawson Software (Nasdaq:LWSN) today announced that Koramsa, Guatemala’s largest apparel manufacturer, has signed a contract to implement Lawson QuickStep Fashion, an enterprise software package designed specifically for the fashion industry. QuickStep Fashion is one of the latest offerings from Lawson, with much of the functionality pre-configured based on fashion industry best practices and requirements. Under the contract, Koramsa will also implement Lawson Business Intelligence, Lawson Learning Accelerator and Lawson M3 applications including Enterprise Mobility, Supply Chain Planner and Multi-Site Planner. The company will use the recently introduced Lawson M3 7.1 Technology as the platform for its Lawson enterprise applications. The contract with Koramsa was signed in Lawson’s third quarter of fiscal 2007, which ended Feb. 28, 2007.
Koramsa, located in Guatemala City, Guatemala, has become a leader in apparel manufacturing in Central America since it formed approximately 15 years ago. Koramsa is a full service apparel solutions provider for major brands and retailers in the United States. The company has strategically adopted business processes that improve its ability to manage operations and bring greater discipline to supply chain planning and execution. Koramsa turned to Lawson for a business system that would support its current and future strategic plans for growth in its U.S. and global markets.
“Lawson has the industry-specific functionality we need to help us execute on our technology and overall business strategies faster and with greater simplicity,” said Carlos Arias, president, Koramsa. “We also needed a solution that will get us up-and-running quickly, with the flexibility and functionality to scale with us as we grow, which is why the QuickStep Fashion solution made the most sense for us.”
In addition to QuickStep Fashion, Koramsa is planning to implement Lawson Business Intelligence, which is designed to provide organization-wide reporting and analysis via role-based dashboards, delivering relevant information to employees at all levels, who can then make better and faster decisions to help improve corporate performance.
The company will also take advantage of other Lawson M3 applications, including Supply Chain Planner and Multi-Site planner to give Koramsa greater control over its supply chain and improved visibility across the organization. In addition, Koramsa will use Lawson M3 Enterprise Mobility to streamline and automate warehouse and receiving transactions, while the recently introduced Lawson Learning Accelerator will help the company simplify and speed the process of employee training. Learning Accelerator provides realistic, role-based simulation training, coupled with valid measurement and assessment of learners’ progress and proficiency with the Lawson applications.
“Koramsa’s planned use of Lawson represents the kind of corporate technology strategy and vision that will help a company get the most out of its Lawson investment,” said Bob McKee, industry strategy director, Fashion, for Lawson. “Guatemala is now a key global hub for fashion manufacturing. Companies in the region see the value in technology solutions that will help them make better, more informed decisions – as well as the need for greater ability to manage complex global supply chains.”
Lawson Professional Services will provide implementation and consultation services for Koramsa.
