Lawson M3 system to help simplify deployment of a complete ERP system
AUCKLAND, New Zealand (August 25, 2008) – Lawson Software (Nasdaq: LWSN), a global provider of enterprise resource planning (ERP) software applications, today announced that Intek Security Group Ltd (Intek), a New Zealand importer and distributor of electronic security equipment such as access control, intrusion prevention, communication and surveillance systems, will implement Lawson QuickStep Distribution. The Lawson QuickStep solution is a pre-configured ERP package designed to help simplify and speed software implementation for distribution-based organisations. The contract was signed with Caspex Corporation, parent company of Intek, during Lawson’s fourth quarter of fiscal 2008, which ended May 31, 2008.
Established in the New Zealand market since 2004, Intek’s catalogue includes products for residential, commercial and industrial security requirements including: DSC alarm panels for intrusion and perimeter control; Optex sensors and beams for infra-red detection of intruders; Genesis access control systems; Farfisa audio and video door communications; and surveillance solutions from Pelco and Honeywell. The company operates from its main office and warehouse facility in Mount Eden, Auckland, with supply branches in Wellington and Christchurch. Its diverse products are delivered to market through a channel network of more than 600 specialist alarm installers located throughout the country, ranging from one-person operations to large security installation companies.
Intek will implement Lawson QuickStep Distribution, pre-configured ERP software designed specifically around the needs of the distribution industry. By pre-configuring 70-90 percent of business processes specific to the distribution industry, Lawson QuickStep can help reduce implementation time by up to 50 percent. Lawson QuickStep Distribution incorporates finance, sales, procurement, warehousing and distribution functionality.
“The Intek team prides itself on being innovators and leaders in the security industry, said Bob Boniface, chief executive officer of Caspex Corporation, the parent company of Intek Security. “The company believes in ‘first by far’ and is firmly committed to providing excellent service and products to the professional security market throughout New Zealand. We’re constantly challenging the status quo to see how levels of customer service and support can be improved and we’re very mindful of the fact that our network of sellers and installers rely on us to provide the very latest, most reliable security technology. The new Lawson M3 ERP solution will help position Intek as the preferred supply partner for the security industry in New Zealand as we continue to deliver excellence to the market.
Lawson QuickStep Distribution will help improve Intek’s ability to provide quick and efficient customer service through an integrated e-Sales system, including service mobility functionality.
Lawson QuickStep Distribution will replace an existing 10-year-old legacy system and will provide Intek with the distribution and field service functionality needed to manage both its brands and its channel partners.
According to Stephen Moore, Lawson ANZ Managing Director, “Our reputation for providing low total cost of ownership, simple-to-use, industry-specific ERP solutions was key to Intek selecting Lawson. The Lawson system will help facilitate the sharing of customer information throughout the organisation, including both internal and remote sales teams.
Lawson will partner with the Integral Technology Group, which was set as a preferred technology partner at the start of 2008. The Lawson system will be deployed on an IBM Power 6 System i, with Integral Technology providing full management and support. Network information will also be hosted within Integral Technology’s data centre.
