NetSuite OneWorld Reduces Time and Cost of ERP Deployment for TransACT
Australian Regional Telecommunications Provider Goes Live On NetSuite OneWorld in Just Six Months
SYDNEY (November 15, 2011) – NetSuite Inc. ( NYSE: N), the industry’s leading provider of cloud-based financials / ERP software suites, today announced that regional Australian telecommunications provider TransACT, has gone live on NetSuite OneWorld for business management and financial consolidation at its head office in Canberra and subsidiary TransACT VIC in Ballarat. As a fast-growing company, TransACT’s nine business units and seven legal entities in five locations have adopted the comprehensive NetSuite OneWorld cloud-based ERP system. Speed of implementation, IT spend reduction and comprehensive cloud-based product functionality were key drivers.
TransACT provides a range of centralised communications solutions to more than 150,000 product customers, 50 federal and state government agencies, and over 5,000 small to medium enterprises in regional areas in NSW, the ACT and VIC. Rapid growth led it to bring its ERP, HR and payroll functions in-house from an outsourced deployment. Typically it takes years to migrate to a traditional on-premise ERP system and can be very costly. NetSuite’s ability to rapidly deliver real-time business management and financial consolidation at a fraction of the cost of traditional on-premise ERP solutions, and within TransACT’s six month timeframe, made it a good decision for the telecommunications provider.
TransACT uses NetSuite for its core ERP functions, including project accounting for registering projects and managing costs; inventory management to manage stock in its warehouses; payroll for all employees; HR to register all employees and their position structure across its offices; and fixed assets to recognise all of its assets and integrate with its financial system. The move to NetSuite OneWorld enables TransACT to align operations across finance, sales and service, while seamlessly handling complex taxation rules and reporting requirements.
“After closely reviewing NetSuite’s capabilities, we realised that cloud-based NetSuite OneWorld was a good fit for us,” said Roze Frost, general manager of IT for TransACT. “Not only was it well suited to meet the needs of our business of 300 employees, but it was the fastest way to go live on ERP while coming in at a fraction of the cost of an on-premise solution.”
By deploying NetSuite OneWorld, TransACT does not have to host or upgrade any infrastructure or applications, nor employ an IT team to maintain its ERP system. Instead it can focus on its core business of providing telecommunications services to its customers. TransACT’s systems administrators can customise the solution on their own, without the need to engage costly consultants.
“TransACT’s managers and employees now have the functionality, information and tools they need to manage key aspects of their business better and streamline operations,” said Mark Troselj, managing director of NetSuite APAC. “NetSuite OneWorld supports TransACT’s financial and operational efficiency, delivers real-time visibility and consolidation, and also provides flexibility for customisation to corporate and subsidiary needs.”
NetSuite OneWorld offers streamlined business processes, while at the same time empowering every stakeholder — from executives to finance, sales and service — with a personalised view of business performance.
“We can now do instantaneous reporting, with more employees other than just finance able to use the software because it is so easy to use,” Frost said. “We now have greater flexibility to compile financial reports to meet our format needs with our own general ledger, rather than going off the back of our previous outsourcer.”
Today, more than 10,000 companies and subsidiaries depend on NetSuite to run complex, mission-critical business processes globally in the cloud. Since its inception in 1998, NetSuite has established itself as the leading provider of enterprise-class cloud ERP suites for divisions of large enterprises and mid-sized organisations seeking to upgrade their antiquated client/server ERP systems. NetSuite excels at streamlining business operations, as demonstrated by the 2011 CODiE Award for Best Financial Management Solution, as well as a recent Gartner study naming NetSuite as the fastest growing top 10 financial management systems vendor in the world. NetSuite has continued its success in delivering the best cloud business suites to businesses around the world, enabling them to lower IT costs significantly while increasing productivity, as the global adoption of the cloud accelerates.
