SÃO PAULO (June 07, 2012) – IFS, the global enterprise software company, has announced that in order to integrate the company’s operations and provide greater speed, data integrity and reliability, SOG

Setal is a company exclusively dedicated to the oil and gas industry, to which it provides management, engineering and construction services and supplies. The company has tremendous experience with implementing improvement projects related to the oil and gas supply chain, in all of its phases.

Latin IFS worked with Setal to implement the new standard modules to expand its IFS Applications enterprise resource planning (ERP) suite and meet the demands of Setal’s very unique business model, including the creation of new project-specific companies within its enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution. IFS Applications enables the management of all companies created in a single application with costs centrally managed and controlled by IFS’s Finance and Distribution modules.

According to Setal IT Manager Carlos Jose Fonseca, apart from increasing the availability of accurate data, the upgrade and expansion of IFS Applications will meet the critical need for compliance with regulatory requirements, including NF-e, FCONT and SPED.

The addition of the projects module will give Setal increased control over engineering and fabrication projects in real-time across all modules within their enterprise application. Activities will be controlled in a unified, real-time fashion – whether it’s the procurement process, document management, or a work order.

The addition of functionality to manage subcontracts also allows Setal enhanced visibility and control over the activities of subcontractors so they can determine what work has and has not been completed at any given time.

“Our biggest challenge is to control all phases of the project from bid tender to engineering to fabrication and construction,” Fonseca said. “We need to verify that costs are recovered for all activities, work order by work order and subcontract by subcontract. Now using IFS Applications, we can have visibility of all project activities to an extent that will allow us to be more competitive.”

“IFS Applications has provided Setal with the ability to manage its processes company-wide in a single application,” Latin IFS Commercial Manager Walmir Cardoso said. “The fact that IFS can offer software that meets the real needs of this demanding industry segment places us in an outstanding position to meet the ever-increasing demand that is occurring in the oil and gas market. This proves the flexibility of IFS Applications, which can be gradually implemented and used in accordance with customers’ changing needs.”

The Oil & Gas industry is one of IFS’ targeted markets. IFS offers flexible, component-based business solutions that manage the entire lifecycle of contracts, projects, assets and services. IFS Applications includes functionality for contract and project management, risk management, budgeting and forecasting, engineering, material management, fabrication, document management, service and asset management, all integrated with financials and human resources.
