SAP Unveils New Face of SME Market Success
Major Solution in SME Portfolio from SAP Boosts User Experience With Embedded Analytics for Specific Roles from Accounting and Financials to Purchasing and Sales
Germany (December 13, 2010) – To meet the rapidly growing demands of small businesses and midsize companies for improved working environments and greater customization, SAP AG (NYSE: SAP) today announced the release of the first user experience package for SAP® Business All-in-One solutions. The package provides users access to key business content through a rich, unified and personalized environment for faster access to critical information and improved productivity. This is also the latest solution improvement for customers and partners participating in the ramp-up of SAP enhancement package 5 for the enterprise resource planning (ERP) application SAP® ERP 6.0, one of the key pillars of SAP Business All-in-One.
SAP Business All-in-One solutions are the first to package preconfigured end-to-end business scenarios with business intelligence for better business process execution and higher user productivity. With this new package, SAP delivers an intuitive, integrated and efficient user experience in which customers will have one single working environment for SAP and non-SAP applications, defined solely by the requirements of the employee and the specific operational role. This package provides pre-defined user interface content, which is graphically attractive and easy to navigate, to establish a new, out-of-the-box user experience for various roles in sales, purchasing, accounting, manufacturing, financials, project management, human resources and management.
Insights From Channel Partners Bring Shorter Development Cycles and Faster Time to Market
This new user experience offering was the result of one of the largest SAP co-innovation projects ever conducted for SAP Business All-in-One solutions. Through a series of global partner adoption workshops and the ongoing collaboration of the SAP partner ecosystem with regional SME Solution Centers, eight different channel partners from multiple countries volunteered to work with the SAP Business All-in-One development team throughout the project to help ensure a high market fit. These partners include ai informatics, All for One Midmarket, Ciber AG, Cormeta AG, itelligence, ITML GmbH, scc and Steeb.
“We were glad to be part of this innovative development at an early stage,” said Jorg Dietmann, chairman of the board, Ciber Germany. “Looking at our SAP Business All-in-One experience, we can bring a lot of input from our customers to the table. With this exciting new offering, we are now able to access user-friendly interfaces with a few clicks and easily go the last mile to our customers, who then also have a comprehensive way to personalize their user experience without the need for technical skills.”
“Not only were our channel partners able to participate in this development project from the very beginning, but they provided invaluable input throughout the process,” said Robert Vetter, senior vice president and head of SME portfolio development, SAP. “Through co-innovation with our partners, we bring together the best of two worlds to create a winning combination — the capabilities of our solution offerings and the leading market expertise of our partners. Joint efforts in the development stage such as this represent a completely new approach within the SME area and a model for the future.”
The new user experience package for SAP Business All-in-One contains pre-defined content that can be scaled. Partners can easily broaden the user experience to cover deep industry requirements and their unique market expertise as part of their own SAP Business All-in-One solutions — with minimal to no need for programming. Together with SAP NetWeaver® Business Client software, the page builder functionality within SAP enhancement package 5 for SAP ERP 6.0 provides a framework to easily design, configure and adapt an intuitive and attractive user interface as a one-stop workplace access.
Additional deliveries focused on extending the new face of SAP Business All-in-One to more countries, more industry-specifics and more roles in a company are planned for 2011. To preview the new interface, watch a video on the SAP Newsroom YouTube channel, “SAP Business All-in-One: A New, Intuitive, and Integrated User Experience.”
