MSI Mold Builders Earns 2008 Summit Award at Consona User Conference

Company Uses Encompix® ERP Software to Facilitate Turnaround, Generating Higher Revenues While Reducing Administrative Staff; Wins Best Overall Use Award

Las Vegas, Indianapolis and Cedar Rapids, Iowa (October 15, 2008) –

Consona Corporation (Consona), a worldwide leader in providing customer relationship management (CRM) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software and services for companies of all sizes, today announced at its premier user conference, Consona Connect, that MSI Mold Builders (MSI), a Cedar Rapids, Iowa-based manufacturer of high quality, low maintenance and efficient plastic molds and Encompix ERP user, is the 2008 recipient of the software provider’s Best Overall Use Award.

The Best Overall Use Award, part of Consona’s annual Summit Awards, honors a customer that has demonstrated excellence in utilizing multiple products (modules, features, add-on, third-party) and services from Consona. Recipients of the award submit both qualitative and quantitative data that illustrate how the solution has improved the customer’s overall business performance. Award recipients display full use of both core and add-on solutions, steady business growth, a strong return on investment, and a passion for implementing and mastering new technologies.

Over the course of more than 30 years, MSI has carved out a niche in building plastic molds for a variety of applications in markets such as computers, medical diagnostics, sporting goods and transportation industries. As the company grew in recent years, the shortcomings of its existing system became more apparent. “The old system was not very stable, and it took a lot of manual intervention to pull together all the information we needed to run the business efficiently, especially on the accounting side,” said Diana Sash, controller at MSI. “Our business was growing and we needed a more robust system.”

MSI selected the Encompix ERP solution as the best fit for its business processes, noting that the solution was more project-based than other systems they evaluated, integrated all of the primary business functions, and also was flexible and customizable enough to align with MSI’s unique business needs. With Encompix ERP as a foundation and the Encompix team for support, MSI has seen significant improvements in its ability to track and control costs, accomplishing the following notable advantages:

* Grew sales from $12 million to $16 million.
* Reduced the time needed for month-end closing from 10 days to one day.
* Decreased response time to customers’ requests for quotations and saved 15 to 20 minutes per quote.
* Eliminated manual entry of bills of material, saving an average of five hours of data entry per job, and reducing the error rate from 10 percent to less than one percent.
* Saved three to four days previously spent manually inputting new prices and reduced the number of errors.

“Thanks to Encompix ERP software, our business processes are streamlined, and our staff spend less time resolving issues and transferring information — and more time on the forward-looking aspects of business that contribute to our company’s growth and bottom line,” said Sash. “It’s a huge improvement.”

“It is our pleasure to honor MSI with a Summit Award for their absolutely outstanding achievements,” said Jeff Tognoni, CEO of Consona. “MSI stands as an example of the dedication it takes to gain maximum return on a business system investment. The growth and success this company has achieved with our support reminds all of us at Consona why we’re in business.”
