Cimnet Systems Releases Paradigm® v3.5, iQuote™ v3.2 and Engenix® v2.2
Fully Integrated PCB-Specific Engineering and Business Software Solutions Provide Unprecedented Customer Value and Help Boost Satisfaction Levels to 100 Percent
Indianapolis, IN (January 23, 2008) –
Cimnet Systems, a Consona business unit and leading global supplier of enterprise resource planning (ERP) software and services for the printed circuit board (PCB) industry, today released new versions of three of its PCB-specific engineering and business software solutions. Paradigm Version 3.5, Cimnet Systems’ core ERP system; iQuote Version 3.2, an intelligent, Web-based solution that automates the quoting process; and Engenix Version 2.2, a pre-production engineering application, are now generally available to both existing and new customers.
“North American PCB fabricators continue to face customer demands for sophisticated and complex board designs, as well as international competition,” said Mehul Dave, general manager for Cimnet Systems. “The Cimnet Systems suite of products provide a specialized, end-to-end, fully integrated software platform for them to use to manage these challenges — from quotation through production — while supporting business process outsourcing (BPO) for all or just part of their engineering needs. At Cimnet Systems, we are very privileged to be able to continually enhance our software and services using the feedback of the world’s leading PCB manufacturers — our customers.”
Some of the customer-driven functionality in Paradigm v3.5 includes significant system flexibility enhancements in the areas of currency exchange rate management, bills of material, inventory (i.e., consignment and inspection), and shop floor management. Cimnet Systems’ customers also helped design ease-of-use enhancements within the PCB panelizer, material search, and pricing modules of iQuote v3.2. Engenix v2.2 now includes the ability to automatically engineer the PCB stack-up based on impedance constraints — another high-priority customer enhancement request.
Shiva Prakash, director of BPO services for Cimnet Systems, explained that continued enhancement of the integrated suite of products positively impacts the company’s ability to provide outsourced CAM and engineering services. “Our BPO services operation is supporting an increasing number of customers using our PCB-specific sales, engineering, production and collaboration software applications. As part of our services offering, we use Engenix and other CAM engineering software products. These solutions streamline our efforts, enabling us to rapidly respond to customer requests and remain a key part of our IS9000 processes.”
In 2007, Cimnet Systems achieved 100 percent customer satisfaction levels for the first time. “We attribute these metrics to our customer focus,” said Dave. “Beyond maintaining excellence in services and support, we’re investing in our solutions in ways that are meaningful to our customers.”
Mike Schumacher, CIO of Coretec Inc., a Toronto-based printed circuit board manufacturer and Cimnet Systems customer, agreed. “Coretec serves a broad North American and European customer base from diverse operations in Toronto, Cleveland, and Denver, as well as via Asian partnerships,” he said. “To do this efficiently, it’s essential that we have our quoting, engineering and business systems integrated across all sites, particularly when we service a product’s entire lifecycle — from design to prototype to volume production. Cimnet Systems products tie all of these processes together, and make our operation more scalable. In our time as a customer, new product releases have helped us more than double our engineering capacity to meet the increased demands of our North American customers.”
Mike Thiel, technology officer for Multicircuits Inc., an Oshkosh, Wis.-based electronics and electrical manufacturing company and Cimnet Systems customer, also lauded the value of ongoing product enhancements. “Our customers require fast service — from prototyping a new board to meeting ongoing production needs. For example, it is not uncommon to run prototype products two, three or four times until the design is finalized. With Engenix v2.2, Multicircuits is able to generate a new, accurate traveler in seconds, while the system keeps track of every adjustment behind the scenes. This flexibility enables us to compete effectively in a demanding North American market.”
