Fujitsu is aiming to help bring greater visibility to manufacturing costs in a new manufacturing software solution. Dubbed the PLEMIA M3/DMx, the manufacturing software is designed by Fujitsu System Solutions Limited to enable manufacturers to gain better control over their global manufacturing costs, while also shortening their development cycles to enhance their competitive edge in the marketplace.
With the massive amount of information involved in manufacturing, costs can spiral quickly out of control. Fujitsu offers an alternative solution that allows users to gain information about the parts involved in the manufacturing process as early as the conceptualization stage of the design phase. The greater visibility into the costs involved in manufacturing helps to drive cost reductions.
This manufacturing software meets a need as the design phase of the manufacturing process has always presented challenges in terms of estimating costs due to low visibility. CAD software used in the past to manage the design process was often handled by a number of systems, complicating the process.
