Integrated ERP system helps optimize and simplify processes within the groupâs various companies
ST. PAUL, Minn. (August 21, 2008) – Lawson Software (Nasdaq: LWSN) today announced that the Böllhoff Group, a leading supplier of fastening, assembly, and systems technology has gone live with the Lawson M3 Enterprise Management System. Since implementing the Lawson M3 system, Böllhoff is noting an improvement in business process optimization among its various subsidiary companies.
In 2002, the Böllhoff Group was divided into three corporate divisions. After a series of organizational changes, the corporate strategy for its fastening and assembly technology division focused on strong international collaboration. This strategy drove the need for an integrated ERP system. The Böllhoff Group first implemented the Lawson M3 solution in 2002 for its operations in France. The organization then decided to go with a common, integrated ERP solution for its fastening and assembly division across Europe. The Lawson M3 system now supports processes within the group’s manufacturing, procurement, marketing and logistics operations.
“Our common ERP system has laid the foundation for optimizing our national and international inter-company processes, said Michael Hielscher, head of IT application development at Böllhoff. “It is also helping us gear up to meet the requirements of an increasingly networked world.
A key factor in Böllhoff’s decision to go with the Lawson enterprise system was the ease with which Böllhoff can incorporate the ERP system in other locations via Lawson’s Multi Unit Coordination (MUC) functionality. This can ultimately help the company react to new corporate developments and initiatives. It also gives Böllhoff a better view of its customer requirements in other countries. Customer orders for German products can now be processed in France, Italy and Spain and vice versa.
The Lawson system is currently used by 250 people in Germany and 230 in France, Italy and Spain. Böllhoff serves customers in multiple industries, including automotive, aerospace, machinery, plant construction, electrical and electronics, sheet metal, plastics processing, construction, furniture and woodworking.
“We are delighted to have Böllhoff as another excellent reference in the manufacturing industry, says Friedbert Schuh, general manager, Central Europe, for Lawson. “Our functionalities are a good fit for the needs of a company like Böllhoff, and they allow us to support our customers’ growth plans.
