Epicor Expands Its Presence in Latin America through Strategic Alliances in Chile and Colombia
IRVINE, Calif. (August 20, 2007) – Epicor Software Corporation, (NASDAQ: EPIC), a
leading provider of enterprise business software solutions for the midmarket and divisions of
Global 1000 companies, today announced it will, through its strategic alliances with
Technology Coast Partners (TCP) in Chile and Ability Data in Colombia, offer to Chilean and
Colombian companies a wide portfolio of integrated enterprise resource planning (ERP),
customer relationship management (CRM), supply chain management (SCM) and
professional services automation (PSA) software solutions, strengthening the Company’s
presence in Latin America.
With corporate offices in Miami and operations throughout the region, TCP provides
enterprise and e-business software solutions designed for medium to large companies. TCP
has been an Epicor distribution partner since 2002, representing Epicor solutions for the
manufacturing industry to several countries in Latin America, and is now expanding the
alliance to the Chilean territory. TCP will set out to provide companies in Chile with
enterprise solutions that enable them to improve their business processes, and help them to
become more competitive and efficient.
Ability Data, a leading IT infrastructure, enterprise software solutions and business
services provider firm based in Bogotá, Colombia and Miami, Florida, will commercialize,
implement and support Epicor’s enterprise business software solutions in Colombia.
“Our alliance with Ability Data in Colombia, and the extension of our alliance with
TCP in Chile supports our continuous plan to increase our market presence in the Latin
American market,” said Michael Pietrini, senior vice president of Americas sales at Epicor.
“We believe these alliances will be key components to our success in providing companies
in these countries with enterprise solutions that enable them to improve their business
processes, and help them to become more competitive and efficient.”
Epicor’s two-pronged approach to the markets of the region consists of providing
direct attention through regional Epicor executives, as well as through local partners, which
bring the market and local regulations knowledge to respond efficiently to the specific
requirements of each country.
“In addition to our vertical industry expertise, we offer solutions developed on a
Microsoft .NET-based service-oriented architecture (SOA), and a local development and
support centre,” said Pietrini. “The fact that we count on a network of key associates in each
of the countries where we have a presence is a key differentiator for Epicor, and allows us to
offer an important added-value to our clients.”
Latin American Presence
Employing nearly 250 people in Latin America today coupled with an important
investment in research and development, both demonstrate Epicor’s growing interest in the
Latin American and Caribbean markets. According to a recent industry report from AMR
Research, Latin America is estimated to have a five-year compound annual growth rate of
21% for ERP application revenue, a higher rate than any other geographic region, including
North America, Europe and Asia Pacific.1
With a strong presence in Mexico since 1989 and more than 12 years in Venezuela,
the South Cone and the Andean Region are undoubtedly an important area of business for
Epicor today, evident in its commitment to increase its presence and support the business
potential of Latin American and multinational companies present in the region.
Epicor is one of a very few software companies with a complete Development and
Support Centre based in Latin America and the Caribbean region, established in Monterrey,
México in 2000. Epicor has made a significant investment in the translation of its solutions
and in the development of additional functionality to adapt them to the requirements of the
diverse international markets including language, procedure and countable practices, fiscal
laws and commercial customs.
