IFS Expert Presents on Corporate Social Responsibility in Brewing Industry
ITASCA, Ill. (October 17, 2011) – IFS North America Senior Advisor Bill Leedale will present Monday, October 24th on sustainability and corporate social responsibility (CSR) reporting initiatives in the brewing industry during APICS International Conference & Expo in Pittsburgh, Pa.
Leedale will discuss how brewing industry leaders are working to capture and report on their CSR initiatives in the four areas addressed by the UN Global Contact. These four areas include human rights, labor, the environment and anticorruption.
“There are four areas covered by the UN Global Compact but really, they can be boiled down to only three elements referred to as the 3P’s… people, profit and planet,” Leedale said. “Finding a balance between these three elements will be necessary to address the requirements of ISO 14000, ISO 26000 and GRI G3.1. Manufactures and industrial companies not only in the brewing industry but in other industries will be paying more attention to these standards and reporting mechanisms in part because of investor-driven initiatives like the Dow Jones Sustainability Index and the Carbon Disclosure Project. We’ll be taking a look at how companies in the brewing industry report on their sustainability initiatives.”
