Lawson Signs Contracts with Bygma and Johannes Fog to Implement Lawson ERP Suites

Lawson M3 Suite to help Danish building material and lumber yard companies streamline business processes

ST. PAUL, Minn. (April 16, 2007) – Lawson Software (Nasdaq:LWSN) today announced it has signed contracts with Bygma and Johannes Fog, two leading players in the building material and lumber yard industries in Denmark, for the Lawson M3 Suite. The contracts were signed during Lawson’s third quarter of fiscal 2007, which ended Feb. 28, 2007.

Bygma and Johannes Fog jointly asked leading enterprise software providers to offer enterprise solutions that would meet their respective needs. Both companies selected the Lawson M3 Suite over the competing software systems.

“We have grown considerably in the past few years and plan to continue growing in the coming years,” said Jesper H. Kolding, head of IT for Bygma. “Our growth has exceeded the capacity of our existing ERP system. Because of this, we have not been able to capitalize on the synergies of processes that exist throughout our firm.”

“Bygma is slightly larger than us, but we found ourselves in a very similar situation,” said Peter Greisen, business manager for Johannes Fog. “We handle a large volume of transactions, so we need an effective IT system and an effective infrastructure.”

“We evaluated several of the major ERP vendors’ solutions and found that Lawson was best suited to our needs,” said Greisen. “With Lawson, we get a modern solution that contains, as standard, essentially all the functionality we need. At the same time, it is user-friendly and will provide the security we need, since it is Java-based.”

Since the 1970s Bygma has been steadily acquiring companies, and now includes 51 firms in Denmark and Sweden. Johannes Fog has also grown considerably over the past few years. Today it has 10 businesses in greater Copenhagen and North Sealand.

“With the Lawson M3 Suite, we get a business management system that can help increase our productivity,” said Kolding. “Lawson offers the functionality that will enable us to link with our customers and our suppliers electronically. Lawson’s capacity to handle complex logistical situations and supply chains was one of the reasons we chose their solution.”

“With the installation of Lawson M3, we expect to improve several of our business processes,” added Greisen. “For instance, I believe we will see greater efficiency, swifter service to our customers, quicker training of our staff, and better control of our stocks and logistics.”

The plan is for the first Bygma company to be operational on the Lawson M3 applications by fall 2007. The system will then be gradually extended to the other Bygma entities. At Johannes Fog, Greisen expects all of its companies to be using the Lawson applications by 2008.

Both Bygma and Johannes Fog praised Lawson’s consultants for understanding the unique challenges for each firm. “There is no doubt that our new ERP system will be the central nervous system of our business,” added Holding. “Without it, we could not function effectively. Before we conclude an agreement with a new supplier, we conduct a risk assessment. Through this process it became clear to us that Lawson and its consultants were the best choice. Lawson has a good ability to mesh its IT understanding with its understanding of business management.”

“The team at Lawson in Denmark is very pleased with the agreements with Bygma and Johannes Fog,” said Tommy V. Larsen, managing director for Lawson in Denmark. “Lawson has the ability to handle the complex supply chain management needs of companies like Bygma and Johannes Fog – and we provide the tools to help them improve productivity.”
