Lawson Wins a New M3 Customer with Pelikan Technologies
Specialists in biosensory R&D to implement the Lawson M3 Enterprise Management System internationally, in preparation for the companyâs evolution to production and the launch of an innovative device for diabetics.
HILDEN (May 23, 2007) – Lawson Software today announced the signing of a contract with Pelikan Technologies for its Lawson M3 Enterprise Management System. Pelikan Technologies, which specializes in the development and production of biosensory technology, will employ the Lawson M3 software in its financial, sales, procurement and production divisions. The contract was signed in the fourth quarter of Lawson’s 2007 fiscal year, which ends May 31, 2007.
The company, which has its headquarters in Palo Alto, California, plans the introduction of innovative products to simplify the self-checking of blood sugar levels by diabetics, improving their quality of life. Current product testing will soon be switched to series production at the German site in Münster. This move from purely research and development to production will be supported by the use of the Lawson M3 suite, allowing the business processes at both locations to operate in parallel.
“The software we have used up to now for technology and pilot production was no longer suitable for the support of our planned series production, said Gerhard Rühl, CEO of Pelikan Technologies. “We require flexible software with a comprehensive package of functionalities, which can grow with our company.
Pelikan Technologies hopes to see considerable staff increases by 2008. Due to this growth, the scalability of the software was one of the main criteria for the company. Uncomplicated management across multiple locations was also necessary. “No other software can be scaled like Lawson M3, and we can start production on a small scale and then grow as we need to, explains Rühl. “In addition, another decisive factor for us was that we could easily include further locations in our ERP system, using the Multi-Unit Coordination (MUC) solution from Lawson, thus giving us the opportunity to react to current company development at any time.
The software will first be implemented at the Münster site. By the end of the year it will be implemented at the head office in Palo Alto, California.
