Polontex Upgrades to Lawson M3 Java
Leading Polish curtain and tablecloth producer steps up with Lawson
Warsaw, Poland (April 24, 2007) – Lawson Software today announced it has signed an upgrade agreement for an existing Lawson M3 system to the latest Java version at Polontex SA, one of the biggest and most technologically advanced Polish textile producers. Polontex is the first Polish Lawson customer to join Lawson’s ‘Stepping Up’ programme, which will help accelerating the software upgrade process. Polontex will also benefit from Lawson Total Care, an application management support and maintenance program that is designed to help reduce the total cost of ownship of the whole ERP investment.
Through the Java-based version of Lawson M3, Polontex will gain additional functionality for the company’s key operational areas such as manufacturing, supply chain management, sales, planning and finance. It will help the company respond more rapidly to fluctuations in the market, streamline its business processes and help provide better service for its business partners. Benefits will also include improved stock control and greater supply chain visibility – and it will help Polontex take greater advantage of its manufacturing capacity and operations.
As Polontex has opted for Lawson Total Care, the company will gain better access to future upgrades, updates and corrections as well as Lawson’s wide knowledge base and support staff.
Along with the Lawson M3 Java upgrade, Polontex has signed up for MAK, a powerful Java-based tool designed to simplify system modifications. MAK enables Lawson consultants to implement and extend existing applications in a very time-effective manner.

Lawson solutions are currently being used by 250 people at Polontex. The upgrade of Lawson M3 Java will be running on an IBM i5 server.
