STOCKHOLM, Sweden (October 31, 2006) – Scandinavia’s leading supplier of bathroom fixtures and components, Svedbergs, has signed a contract for the latest Lawson M3 enterprise resource planning system, representing an upgrade to help support Svedbergs’ growth plans. The contract was signed in Lawson’s first quarter of fiscal 2007, which ended Aug. 31, 2006.
Svedbergs has used Lawson M3 (formerly Movex) for nearly 10 years and has expressed great satisfaction with its performance. But as the company grew, Svedbergs needed enhanced functionality to operate more efficiently. After a selection process involving several potential solutions, Svedberg chose to upgrade to the newest Java-based Lawson M3 5.2 release. “This new ERP system will help us grow in a controlled manner without increasing other costs in the company. We anticipate that we will gain better and more efficient business management, and meet the requirements of our customers, says Jörgen Ekdahl, Svedbergs’ managing director.
With approximately 240 employees and headquartered in Dalstorp, Sweden, Svedbergs develops, manufactures and markets modern bathroom fixtures and components. Svedbergs has seen growth and profitability over the years and anticipates Lawson M3 will provide a strong foundation for ongoing, stable development. Lawson M3 will aid the company at every stage of its business, beginning with manufacturing at the plant, where the system helps ensure efficient production, product storage and delivery. Lawson Customer Sales and Service within Lawson M3 will allow Svedbergs to track the entire sales and marketing process.
An important feature of the new system is document management. With a growing product range and internationalization, customers increasingly prefer to find product information via the Internet. With the new system, Svedbergs will be able to offer customers online access to information, such as product data sheets and installation instructions, while providing a more efficient means to manage customer relationships. The system not only enables Svedbergs to save the cost of printing documents, it also helps Svedbergs meet customer expectations about how they access information.
