Synopsys Launches Manufacturing Production-Ready Lynx Design System

Software and IP semiconductor design company, Synopsys, has announced the delivery of a low power, high-performance system-on-chip design solution. This latest solution has been optimized for the Common Platform alliance and is designed for the manufacture of the next generation of smart phone devices.

Kevin Meyer, vice president of design enablement, strategy and alliances at GLOBALFOUNDRIES, shared on behalf of the Common Platform alliance that the combination of expertise and early access to the technologies offered by both organizations helped to accelerate the development of this latest platform. This solution will allow designers to optimize results, lower overall design costs and shorten the time-to-market.

With this technology in place, design teams can leverage an open and advanced production flow that is based on the Synopsys Galaxy Implementation Platform. The Foundry-Ready System ensures it can accelerate project start and tape-out. And, with advanced visualization capabilities, chip design is managed in such a way as to enable easy flow configuration and execution, as well as project metrics determined on-demand.

The collaboration of the two teams ensured Synopsys could bring to market a design solution that leveraged seamless integration of the design tools from the company’s Galaxy platform. This, along with other innovations, ensures the company can speed this development and bring the next generation solution to the manufacturing environment even faster than before. This approach helps to satisfy the rapidly growing demand for innovative smartphone solutions.

With the Foundry-Ready System technology plug-in, manufactures can speed the design, production and overall flow to speed process setup and baseline process-specific methodologies.
